Thank you for your interest in adopting! If you see a dog you are interested in please click on the link above to download and then fill out the adoption application form. You may then return it to us by email at izzysplacedogrescue@gmail.com Also, if you cannot download the form, please email us and we will send it to you as soon as possible.
What is the adoption process?
First step is to complete the Adoption Application and return to us for review. Each applicant will receive a phone interview, reference check, and home visit. If your application is approved, we can set up a day/time for you to meet a foster dog and spend a couple of hours of one-on-time. We will then give you time to discuss the decision with your family and decide if you would like to continue with the adoption. If you would like to continue, a time will be set up to bring you new family member into you home to stay. You will be given a 30 day trial where the dog still belongs to Izzy's Place. After the 30 day trial, the dog that you have chosen is fully yours to love and care for. At that time, all records will be transferred to you for your permanent records. Most foster dogs live temporarily in local foster homes, where they remain until adopted. We do not ask our foster homes to meet with interested applicants until the applicant is approved. We are 100% volunteer & most of us work full time, have dogs, cats and kids of our own so we appreciate your patience & understanding. **We encourage you to complete the adoption application and process even if you do not currently see a dog of interest. That way when a dog arrives that you'd like to meet you are already approved**
What is the adoption fee?
Adoption fees vary from $50 - $250. The suggested adoption fee is determined by our director & is set according to age and other factors. It costs an average $650 to rescue one dog. Adoption fees help offset just a tiny bit of the veterinary costs and transportation.
What does the Adoption Fee include?
Each foster dog receives a comprehensive exam, required vaccinations, heartworm test, and spay/neuter. We also provide care for illness or injury while in foster care(such as treatment of ear infections, eye infections, heartworm, dental, arthritis, etc). After adoption, all veterinary care is the adopters responsibility unless otherwise agreed upon by Izzy's Place Representative.
We look forward to helping you find a fabulous senior doggie companion!
Thank You for loving seniors and thinking rescue.

The Reason......a poem to you, from all your rescue dogs....
I would have died that day if not for you.
I would have given up on life if not for your kind eyes
I would have used my teeth in fear if not for your gentle hands
I would have left this life believing that all humans don't care
Believing there is no such thing as fur that isn't matted, skin that isn't flea-bitten, good food and enough of it, beds to sleep on, someone to love me, to show me I deserve love because I exist.
Your kind eyes, your loving smile, your gentle hands, your big heart....saved me.
You saved me from the terror of the pound, soothing away the memories of my old life.
You taught me what it means to be loved.
I have seen you do the same for many other dogs like me.
I have heard you ask yourself in times of despair, why you do it when there is no more money, no more room, no more homes
You open your heart a little bigger, stretch the money a little tighter, make just a little more room....to save one more like me.
I tell you with the gratitude and love that shines in my eyes, in the best way I know how, reminding you why go on trying.
I am the reason, the dogs before me are the reason, as are the ones who come after.
Our lives would have been wasted, our love never given, we would have died if not for you.
