Welcome Boomer to our rescue family!
THEN: this was Boomer when he was confiscated on October 29,2012. He was 1 of 5 dogs taken and he was in the worst condition. He spent those 4 months in another rescue that started his recovery before transferring him to Izzy's Place.
Once Boomer arrived in Fort Collins we took him to the vet for a thorough exam and learned he has thyroid cancer. Although inoperable we remain dedicated to giving him the BEST days of his life! Will you help Boomer enjoy his retirement days to the fullest?
This beautiful German Shorthaired Pointer came to us from another great rescue that started him on the road to health. Once he was healthy enough to travel, he came to Ft Collins to live with his loving foster Mom and brothers and sisters. He is so appreciative of the people that love him and have devoted to take complete care of him. He has started massage therapy and it has made movement a little easier. After a full examination by Dr Altman at Animal Haven, it has been discovered that this beautiful boy has a inoperable tumor on his thyroid. Dr Altman was amazing at looking up research and treatments, and anything that we can do for Boomer. She spoke with specialist, and drug companies so that we can give Boomer the best remaining time in comfort and love. With this type of tumor, it is unknown how much time he has with us, but we are devoted to make this time his best. He is still a very happy and a thankful boy for being given the opportunity to be loved unconditionally. Boomer will stay with his foster Mom for the rest of his retirement. He will be given thyroid medication daily to help slow down the growth, help with symptoms and pain medication for the joint pain. He came to Izzy's Place for a reason, and for Boomer, that was to show him that he is worth saving and being loved. We could not make this happen without the support that we get from you, and we thank you so much for that.
